Polymem dressing is a QuadroFoam type of dressing that is activated by the moisture in the wound. It will cleanse it and fill the wound, which will aid the granulation and healing process. Polymem dressing will also absorb excess wound fluids but will also keep the wound moist. This will ensure that the risk of infection is kept to a minimum and a moist environment is maintained to help the wound to heal faster.

Polymem dressing is made from a patented foam material. Polymem dressing is impregnated with a mild wound cleanser, which will automatically cleanse the wound. It will loosen scabs, and help to get rid of dead tissue as the wound heals. The foam material will absorb as much as 10 times its weight of excess wound fluids it also acts as a filler and will not stick to the wound.
Uses:
Polymem dressing can be used for a number of different wounds. It helps in healing most common wound types such as, pressure ulcers and venous ulcers. It also helps in healing first and second degree burns, surgical wounds, tube sites and dermatological disorders. Polymem dressing can also be used for some skin disorders, donor and graft sites, skin tears, surgical wounds and diabetic ulcers.

Automatic cleaning means that you do not have to clean the wound and disturb the new growth of cells as the wound heals. The moisture from the wound will activate this substance.
The absorption properties of Polymem dressing foam will draw off excess wound fluid and promote healing. The foam material will also expand to act as a type of filler, which allows the wound to granulate and heal faster. This is especially useful for deep wounds and prevents the caregiver from having to pack the wound.
Glycerin is also added to the Polymem dressing making sure that it does not stick to the wound. This means there is less damage to the new cells when the dressing is changed and promotes faster healing. The glycerin will also act as a mild pain reliever and make the wound more comfortable for the patient.
Polymem dressing backing allows the dressing to breathe, in that it is semi-permeable. This allows excess water to evaporate and air to circulate. This means that the wound will have enough oxygen to heal and water will not build up under the dressing. The backing of the Polymem dressing is transparent, which allows medical personnel to see the wound without opening it and enables them to judge when it needs changing.
The dressing can be left on for up to 7 days if needed. However if it needs to be changed before this you will find it quick and easy as the dressing does not stick to the wound and will come off easily without undue trauma and pain to the patient.
Packaging:
Polymem dressing comes in assorted sizes, shapes and rolls. This allows a medical care provider to use it on different size wounds. They can also cut portions of the rolls or pads to fit different sizes of wounds. Different thicknesses are also available for wounds with a lot of excess fluids.
