The Guardian REAL-Time Pediatric System is a doctor-prescribed, patient-owned continuous glucose monitoring system that features a low glucose alert threshold that cannot be set below 90 mg/dL. This feature is intended to provide pediatric patients with additional warning time to react to potential hypoglycemia (low blood glucose). The Guardian REAL-Time Pediatric System goes anywhere you go, no matter how active your lifestyle is. The monitor is small, comfortable, and easy to wear. The tiny glucose sensor is discreet, easy to insert, and virtually painless. It connects directly to the small (about the size of a quarter) MiniLink REAL-Time Transmitter, which wirelessly sends your glucose data to the monitor.
